Please note that the dye fee is not refundable if you decide not to dye the shoes after receiving the swatches due to the cost involved in making the dye mixture. For more information, please see tips on having shoes dyed further down on this page.
There are no exchanges or refunds once the shoes have been dyed.
Service A – Ship the item NOT dyed, but together with a swatch of the colour selected
I want my shoes shipped without being dyed so I can use them for a test fit. A swatch of the colour selected in the same fabric as the shoes I ordered will be included with my order. I am responsible to ship the shoes and swatch back so that the shoes can be dyed, and then the dyed shoes will be shipped back to me for FREE.
Service B – Custom Dye Service – Ship the item NOT dyed
I want my shoes shipped without being dyed so I can use them for a test fit. A swatch of my dress will be included when I return my shoes for dyeing. Once the shoe and swatch are received in the store a custom colour will be mixed and a colour swatch in the same fabric as the shoes you purchased will be mailed to you for approval. Once the colour is approved, items will be posted back to your for FREE.
If an extra swatch is required a fee of $5 will apply for each extra swatch.
Note: Due to the fit and colour approval process you will need to allow approximately 2 to 3 weeks for custom dyeing.
SELECT A COLOUR
WHITE AND IVORIES
We can custom dye your bridal shoes to get a closer match with your wedding dress. Please choose between one of these options or send us a swatch for a custom dye:
DIAMOND WHITE – BW 3
This dye mixture will tone down the brightness of white satin or crepe and give it a matt finish.
CANDLELIGHT – BW5
This dye adds a hint of off-white while dulling the finish to give a look that is similar to that of matt satin.
LIGHT IVORY DYE KIT – BW7
This dye will give you a hint of ivory (slightly yellow tone) while also dulling the fabric.
MEDIUM IVORY – BW 9
This ivory blends well with many silk dresses (has no yellow tone).
IVORY – BW 12
This dye will blend well with a true ivory dress (creamy tone).
If you want to dye your shoes ivory but at the same time maintain the shiny finish of the fabric, we can create a custom made mixture for you. A swatch sample is required.
COLORS
You will be able to chose from the colours below or if you don’t find any colour appropriate please send us a swatch for a custom dye. Kindly note that the colours below are only a small selection of the pre-mixed colours available. Also note that the colour will vary slightly as it is not possible to show the real colour on the computer screen. We do have an extensive colour swatch book available for viewing in our Sydney store.
TIPS ON PICKING THE BEST DYEABLE BRIDAL OR EVENING SHOE FABRICS TO COMPLEMENT YOUR BRIDAL, WEDDING OR EVENING DRESS
VISCOSE SATIN: Viscose Satin is the most innovative new fabric in the marketplace today for bridal shoes and evening shoes and dyes beautifully and easily. Viscose Satin is a dyeable fabric that complements both dull and matt satin gowns. This new material has a similar look to the high-end silk-faced satin material but at a fraction of the cost.
SATIN: Satin is a high gloss material that matches perfectly with bridal gowns that have satin bottoms. If your dress has a matt finish maybe you would like to consider a matt finish dye for your shoes. However some brides like the contrast of the shiny shoes as a complement to her jewellery. Satin bridal shoes dye especially well to deep color tones such as navy, brown, and burgundy. Satin is a good choice for matching velvet dresses which are normally quite deep in color and tone. Satin material experiences the greatest color variance between outdoor (natural) and indoor lighting due to the reflectivity of the material.
SATIN SILK: Silk Satin is a high-end natural fabric with a soft satin sheen. "Silk Satin" has a soft texture and a slight off-white hue. Silk Satin bridal shoes and evening shoes are ideal for dresses that are made of Silk or have a "diamond white" or natural white silk tone.
CREPE: Luxe is a lesser used fabric as it does not take darker dye colors as well as satin does. While not the vibrant sheen of satin, crepe does have a little sheen, which allows it to also match up to today’s satin dresses.
TIPS & ADVICE ON CUSTOM DYEING BRIDAL & EVENING SHOES
Water Resistant Treatment
Shoe dyes used for dyeable shoes are water-soluble and will bleed or stain if exposed to moisture. When custom dyeing bridal and evening footwear, we will protect your shoes with a water repellent spray specially designed for delicate fabric shoes at no extra cost. The spray will prevent most staining but will not make your bridal or evening shoes fully waterproof like a hiking boot. Please be aware that once sprayed, the shoes cannot be re-dyed. If you don’t want your shoes sprayed with water resistant treatment please advise with your order. If you are not thinking of re-dyeing your shoes we recommend that you purchase the spray and use it always before wearing your shoes.
Custom Dyed Shoes Look Different With Indoor & Outdoor (Natural) Lighting
Ultraviolet light in the natural light spectrum will cause the colour of your dyed bridal or evening shoes to look different outdoors from indoors. The colour will also appear different between shaded areas and direct sun light. For example, beige peach and taupe dye will take on a pinkish hue outside while grey and blue tones acquire a purple tone. This cannot be avoided. We recommend custom dyeing your designer bridal shoes, evening shoes or formal shoes to match the lighting of wherever the service will be held.
Custom Dyeing Bridal Shoes To Match Your Dress Is An Art
When custom dyeing shoes it is not possible to get a perfect colour match due to the textural differences between the shoe fabric and the dress material (unless your shoes were made from the same fabric as the dress). We can ensure that they will be dyed properly to blend as close to the hue and depth of colour as humanly possible.
